Haychem (Bangladesh) Limited started its Bio-Fertilizer unit since 2023. Soil health is the most important things for sustainable agriculture and soil health depends on organic matter content of soil. Organic matter itself is composed of living biomass like microorganisms, dead tissue or partly decomposed materials and stable, fully decomposed humus. Soil organic matter is a key factor in maintaining long-term soil fertility since it is the reservoir of metabolic energy, which drives biological processes in nutrient availability. Soil organic matter undergoes mineralization and release substantial quantities of N, P, S and very important source of micronutrients. It influences physical, chemical and biological properties of soil. Depletion of soil organic matter is a major constraint for high intensity crop production in Bangladesh. Soil organic matter is continuously undergoing changes and needs to be replenished regularly to maintain soil productivity (SRDI, 2020). So Haychem (Bangladesh) Ltd. is working to supply organic fertilizer to farmers level throughout the country. We are also introducing Trichoderma in organic fertilizer converting them into bio-fertilizer (Tricho-compost) as well as bio-pesticide that maintains a good soil health as well as controlling harmful fungus. Tricho­compost has additional benefits compared to traditional compost:

  • Tricho­-compost works as a natural antifungal agent against harmful fungi which are mostly responsible for soil born disease and fungal wilt.
  • Because of the inclusion of poultry refuse, Tricho­-compost provides resistance against bacterial wilt and nematode infestation
  • Tricho-compost may work as growth promoter in plants.(Mokhlesur, 2015)

We already have a registered Tricho-compost Bio-Fertilizer named Hayleys Tricost Compost. Our main focus is to enrich the compost with sufficient amount of Trichderma. We also lead research efforts to improve the quality of bio-fertilizers in collaboration with different Agricultural Universities and our specialize team of bio-Fertilizer unit always striving to enrich our product line and maintain the quality.
